center console measurement?

Would anyone have the width and height of the rear portion of the center console? I mean the section that surrounds the shifter. I want to see how closely this '95 protege console comes to it, so I can get an idea of whether a nice full console could be made from the two. I know what a few of you are thinking, "this guy was posting yesterday about getting rid of his Festiva". Well, I'm still kind of on the fence about that, and I was going through some parts tonight and started wondering about this. (sorry for the crappy pic)

Not time for bed yet, so I went out quick with a flashlight....

Console height at the rear looks to be 2.5" right before it starts that curve down to the carpet.
Width also varies, it's wider at the bottom;
Bottom is about 6"
top is 5.5"

there is always someone on ready to do something... if this works out take lots of pics to show how you did it cause it looks and sounds like a awesome idea...
