  • 91 mazda 323 airconditioning not cooling

    i converted my mothers car to 134 and it is full of frion but not cooling all that well. does this car have an expansion valve or orifice tube on it? what else can i look for for the reason why it is not cooling all that well?

    Did you replace the drier canister?
    Which can have residual lubricating oils from the R12 that are incompateable with the lub used for 134A.

      on the climate control panel there is a switch to draw air from the outside or circulate from the inside which position should it be on for air conditioning?

        It can be in either but I always have mine on recirculate. It gets colder that way Ive found.

          for cooler air use recirculate as mentioned.. instead of cooling fresh air, its more efficient to cool the already semi-cool air on recirculate mode.

            On Festivas converted to R134, is the cooling noticeably less or take longer to get down to cool temp. I've read where the size of the condenser would be better for R134 if it was bigger. Note: No scientific values or measurements provided.
