  • Vetstiva was WIA...

Tuesday I attended a full military funeral for a fellow Vietnam Vet. It was about 35 miles from my home. Made the trip fine, A/C blasting the whole trip. On the way back, Vetstiva overheated. It was like 102 degrees out. We made it to a gas station. Everything under the hood was sizzling. I let it cool down, refilled it with oil and anti freeze, and took off towards home. I had to stop 2 more times for water and cooling down before making it home. I popped the hood, and there was oil everywhere! Long story short::: rings are gone, valves burnt, etc... Vetstiva was seriously injured trying to get me home. He fulfilled mission statement::"LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND." He is being taken to a shop and being rebuilt. That fulfills OUR mission statement:::"LEAVE NO FESTIVA BEHIND."

Thanks y'all. The friend we buried was highly decorated. He died the way he hoped to. Came back from playing golf, sat down in his recliner, and died. Vetstiva will be back--better--stronger--faster. I'll be in my '81 F100 until then.
