I was just reading an article about the coming Fiesta. Read this:

"Subcompact Fords are not entirely foreign to North America, but their presence until now has been sporadic. The original Fiesta, designed by Ford of Europe was sold here only from 1978 to 1980. Between 1988 and 1997, Ford sold a rebadged Kia as its subcompact offering. Labelled Festiva in its first generation and Aspire for its second go-round, it was a pretty dreary piece of kit even by the low expectations of its time and category."
