Greetings Y'all,
Just thought I'd jump in here and say howdy, my son Dean has been a member here for a while. My names Dennis, I live in Oregon and just acquired a 1989 Festiva, EFI/auto,A/C, rear window defog, intermittent wipers, 160k. Found this on a local Craigs List advertised as a Fiesta sitting in a local impound yard. This little beast was so flippin' dirty I couldn't bring myself to take any before pictures but have been in the process of cleaning it up this week and will post a few pictures as soon as I'm done.
So far I've gutted the car, redyed all interior trim and seats, carpet will be done today. Going to remove the dash for rejuvination this weekend and also to repair a misguided electrical modification from the previous owner. For whatever reason they have completely eliminated the fuel pump relay, cross-wired around it. The pump runs all the time when the key is in any position but off. The car runs fine but this needs to be fixed. Found another EFI car in a local P&P and will get the whole harness and swap it out if need be, looks simple enough a 5 year old could do it.
The car was originally a deep maroon color but has been repainted red. The interior is grey and I have yet to find a spot of rust anywhere on this vehicle. The only things missing from original when I got it were the spare tire and jack, the P&P has these and will be gotten this weekend. That's about it for now, I'll get some pics up soon. Great forum here with a lot of good info, thanks.
