    anyone know how hard it would be to switch over a 5 spd to auto in a 98 Metro ?

              my niece can't and won't get use to a 5 spd so it has to sell or go to auto.

                  Ughh... it really bugs me when I hear people say stuff like that. ANYONE can learn to drive a stick. Its not hard at all. They just have to *want* to learn. What if that person grew up before the 50's or 60's when autos became more common?

                          Do her a favor, give her a choice, she can either learn to use the 5spd or not drive.
                          Simple choice.

                            I say learn to drive manual - its something that will aid you the rest of your life - I taught my brother in law how to drive the aspire really easily

                              Im with those guys. Manual transmission should be a required skill by law.
