  • Hi Guys

Hey, thought I'd intro myself. My name's Dustin, and I live 20 miles from Clemson, SC. I got into the addiction when I bought my '94 Aspire. A triple ball trailer hitch quickly ended my accumulating parts list, but before that I had a good system inside, 4x Dual 6.5" bi-ways and 4x Pyramid/Motorolla supertweeters powered by a JVC MP3/Sirius unit. In the trunk were two Pioneer TS-W's powered by a Jensen 300w amp. I was always getting people asking me how I put the strobes in my headlights, and I had to tell 'em it was my underpowered alternator makin' the lights dim out. *sigh* Anyway, I turned most of my attention to my 86 & 87 Conquest TSi sisters for a while, but nothing was ever achieved, so my wife told me to sell them, since we were spending more on the cars sitting in a storage area than actually making headway getting them to run. I went without a car for a long time, and after I got some money for referring a friend to a job I started looking for another ride. I'll be honest, I never expected to run across a mint condition Ford Festiva, and after going to FMS I went straight back to the guy and bought it. Paid $1600. Yeah... But it's got 78,000 original miles on it, an almost flawless interior, and while the car was repainted, at least it was painted red.
My intentions for the car are to put my old system (except subs) in with custom-made housings in look-stock locations (pockets frenched and speakers added, you'll see soon, I hope). The rear deck's goin' fast and will be replaced with a 4 8" sub box and 150w amp. Should be enough for the half-pint hot rod. Aspire upgrade will come as soon as I can find where they took my old Aspire, and after wheel and tire upgrades (Primax 786 Hyperblack 14" wrapped in Falken Ziex (sp)) and an FMS body kit, I will be saving up for the greatest engine swap ever! Hartley Enterprises BU2, an 11,000 RPM 200hp Hayabusa-mated 1.6 I-4 in N/A form, before the Garrett T/4 turbo. 2" exhaust with a 22" glass pack muffler, high flow cat, and dual exhaust with Kia Sportage tips painted in hyperblack. Should be good. I'm thinking about trying to put the front Festiva discs on the rear after I install the Aspire knuckles on the front, and even though the bolt pattern won't be the same, the rims I've chosen have the dual bolt hole setup, so unless you really look, you shouldn't see a difference... Any ideas? Only upgrade so far is the shift knob hahaha I am ricer today! Anyway, lemme know what you think! Thanks for letting me become a member.

Welcome! And...1.6L I4 Hyabusa??? That sounds pretty crazy. What's that thing weigh. Would it be streetable? That pics looks to be a full on race engine.

www.h1v8.com is the website. Yeah, it is crazy, but I saw what the V8 can do, and that one only weighs in at 200lbs, so I'm guessing this'll be a light motor. I dunno what the weight comparison is to the B3, but although a racing motor, it is totally streetable. You'll never actually see 3Krpm unless you're trying to race.

Wow! That thing's making me drool! That is sweet! Darn you! Now I'll just have to get my B6T precision blueprinted, balanced, and well modified for high revs...mmmm...11,000 rpm....jk though...but that is sweet!

It's $8,000usd for the parts, and you have to get a Hayabusa donor motor for internals. After that, I'll probably make it my weekend car. Where I live, it's about 60 miles from the infamous Tail of the Dragon. 15 miles long, but 138 hairpin curves at varying altitudes. I want to see what she'll do! It won't be soon, I know, but I'm still preppin' the car. Do you think that the all wheel disc brake idea is possible?

Oh yeah, I'll probably throw the B6T in long before the B2. My wife's excited about it, surprisingly. She wasn't really supportive of my Conquest obsession, but it seems that turning an ecomony car into a pocket rocket is on her OK list... ??? Alriiiiiiiight....

The engine is in a wrecked bike.

My friend has not decided to sell it as of yet.

He was the one that suggested installing the engine in a Festiva.

And the over-spoken-of killer! AAAAAAAAAH! But my favorite? Exit 96, home of one of very few Krystals left in SC. Have you seen the bike-powered Geo Metro on Streetfire.net? Awesome, and my reason for my interest, which blew up into the aforementioned B2 (gotta love how the B-series motors flowed into the peak of my obsession) by Hartley Enterprises.

Do it. There is a golf gti with a turbo busa motor on youtube. It is Mean. Even a stock busa motor (if geared right) would propel a festy good. I have a turbo B8 festy. And 2 conquests so I feel your pain. The quests have been sitting for sometime b/c the festy is faster and more fun. Welcome.
