  • Just picked up Festy #3!

Picked up the car I bought with a handshake on Sunday. White 92 L 5-speed with factory Ford sunroof, cold A/C, cargo cover, tach cluster, four brand new unmounted Kumho tires. 324K on the clock, which is accurate. When the previous owner got the tach cluster, he took it apart so that he could match the odometer with the old one, keeping the car's mileage correct. Everything appears to be original except the tranny, which was replaced when reverse went away.

It needs a lot of TLC, but that's the fun of a project car. After I get it the way I want it, I will use it for trying to get the most longevity I can out of it. I'll keep it stock so I can keep the A/C, and see how long the motor will last. All I plan to add to it are better speakers, a full-size spare and a right-side mirror (you'd think someone who got an L with A/C and the sunroof and even the cargo cover would have sprung for a right mirror!?)

Tmw I'm going to the JY to try to get nice seats, and check out speedo cables for my blue car. I also hope to pick up a camera so I can post pix of my cars.

Picked up a set of nice grey Escort GT seats, and spent the afternoon installing them. A little more effort than the Aspire conversion, but well worth it!

Tomorrow: clean it inside and out. Drop off new 12" Kumho tires and wheels to have them mounted. Buy a camera. Spray PB Blaster on lower rear strut mounts preparatory to getting the new struts on. Order rear brake stuff, and inspect exhaust (possible leak in downpipe).

Exhaust leak may be the flange that bolds the cat converter to the down pipe.
With the number of miles on it the and corrosion mine broke loose sometime ago.
Fairly easy fix if you or someone you know can weld, just make sure everything is properly lined up, before welding it up.
This flange and the one on the cat hold pressure on the donut-seal.
Loose the flange and you loose the seal.
