New wheels and tires,

I am in the process of getting my 89' Festiva fixed up and one of the things I wanted to do was get some good wheels and sport tires, with a larger contact patch than what come stock. I have seen Quaddawg's Hoosier's but I don't want to put slicks on a road car/daily driver. My biggest deal is having more grip and contact on front and rear. If someone could suggest some wheels and then some tires that will give me clearance that would be awesome.

P.S. I want to buy new wheels and tires, not used.
