As many know I have turboed my car. After almost selling my car to TominMO, I thought and talked to Tom,and said, what if I offered a turbo kit for the festys? Possibly I come and get it or you fly to me and drop it off. Give me a couple weeks and your festy could be a turbo. Do you guys think this would be sucessful? I know it would have to be cheap. That's why we drive festys anyhow. Give me some input here guys. I was thinking $1500 for parts and labor and track/dyno stuff to prove improvements? Or less with used parts like I did. Opinions? Thanks, Greg

ya if you could do that i think some people would go for it.... but i think if you made rear mount turbo kits for the festiva that would sell a bit better... but i think you would have to make it a bit more hidden and less chance of scraping when going over bumps.... i even thought about doing this but i dont have the tools to do it, my friend does but i dont want to clutter up his shop with jigs and what not.... to save on parts and shiping i thought that maby you could just send the turbo and pipe with all the things to hook it up like the flange to go to the maf and all the oil lines... then all they have to do is run to a store and pick up that big pipe to run under the car... i know in home depo you can get 10 foot of galvanized (<probley wrong spelling) pipe for about 12 bucks.... that would do the trick

I'm certain you know what your doing, but I would be careful. You'll be adding boost to used engines with short blocks not designed for boost that you know little maintenance history about. Plus, not everyone who can, should have a turbo. I would hate to see someone blame you for a destroyed engine when they failed to maintain it properly or because their used engine failed under the added stress. All I'm saying is C.Y.A.. I think it would be safer for you to just sell the kit with a disclaimer.Brian

True but I would do a thourough inspection and report to the owners before turning the first wrench.Mine had 220k miles on it when I turboed it. No problems. I am very conservative when it comes to tuning. But I know what your saying. Always cya. Just a feeler of something new. I want to contribute to this community. TominMO is bringing one of his in oct./sept. for my "special mods". We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the input. That's what I'm looking for. Plus i was thinking no more than 5 lbs. Yeah that's why I say 2-3 weeks so I could drive it daily and take it to the track before and after. And i would have to take alot apart, so I would know what's up inside. I could offer a motor package too. Aspires are plentiful. So are B6/B8s. My swap only took 2 days. I have 4 festy motors ready to go too. Just thinking......................out loud.-Greg

Greg, I was thinking you could also charge people to do B8 or B6 swaps because they are pretty much plug and play and you have experience with it. I'm sure after doing two or three, it'd be a piece of cake.Semper Fi til I die!
