Picked up a Capri today. Actually, this is getting stripped for the drivetrain for the Festiva.
How the ad read on CL:

1992 Mercury Capri turbo 5 speed convert. - $750 (Colorado)
        Date: 2009-12-18, 10:21PM MST
1992 Mercury Capri turbo 5 speed convert. FAST! Looks and runs good, new tires, AC PW, minor dents, needs top. Needs throw out bearing. Cash or interesting trade.

I ended up getting it delivered from Canon City (approx 2 1/2 hours from home) for $550. Not too bad. It is the 1.6L turbo, all complete and running. Will drop everything into the Festiva. I paid about $275 for JUST the engine/trans in late Summer from a junkyard. I still needed other parts such as the coil/ignitor and the wire harness. Getting a complete car was a score. Now the other engine/trans/turbo/cooler will just be spares or maybe sold off.

SO, now for the big question. I have an aluminum flywheel that was destined for my 94 Miata. Anyone tried one with the 1.6 turbo?

I believe that to drop in the Capri trans, that I need to use the intermediate shaft too, right? Still in the homework stages.

                      Thanks for the info.

Has anyone tried using Capri suspension on the Festy? I know that people go for the Aspire suspension. Wondering how Capri compares and if it fits. Want to make the most of my new pile of parts.
