Wow.... talk about useful! Not exactly priced for the every day tool...... BUT, I am in the middle of building a roll cage for the 24 hours of Lemons race (NOT LeMans...haha) (check out our team site www.lemonsrace.com) I needed to build spreader boxes for the roll cage ends... basically you just measure and cut out 3/16" steel plates and weld the in.. each plate usually take 20 minutes to half an hour... I mean 3/16" takes a bit to cut and grind into shape...lol...
BUT, with the PlasmaCam, I just cut out my cardboard template, like I usually do, but instead of drawing it on a sheet, and cutting it out by hand... I scanned it, imported it into the Plasmacam software, and in literally less than 5 minutes per piece, I had all three pieces of the "box" ready to tack in... JUST AWESOME!!!!! they fit perfectly!! I was JAZZED!!!
I am still getting used to the machine... but I am so damned happy with it... this machine is going to change my fabricating life!!!
(and oh yeah... check out the COOL skull I cut out of the same plate material... lol, I couldn't resist!!)

Needed the machine again today... working on the lemons car.. needed a flange for the mass air... will finish the flange by welding on a 3" pipe to attach an intake to..
went to the Plasmacam computer.. scanned the actual mass air sensor... cleaned it up.. got a good outline of what I needed.... and viola!! mass air flange!!!
I am in LOVE with this machine!!!

Jim, I traded an old crap box Harley for the rig, the computer and software, a nice Stainless hood, a Plasma Cutter (that I sold) a desk and a plasma cutter stand. I am guessing the Harley was worth about $5500.
I bought a much nicer Plasma rig (Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 82, list $2846, paid $1829 new with 4 year warranty)
New, the new model is $10K, add about $3K for computer/cutter/accessories and you are up and running for $13K
they sell on Ebay now and then for $5000-8000 with various add-ons, plasma cutters, etc...
Right now, Plasmacam is running a trade in program where I can get $3000 off a new digital height control style machine.. plus it is refined in other ways with new software too...Have had 6 Festys... and counting...
