  • Larger radiators

Casper is running perhaps just a little hot; the temp needle is just above center, where I am used to see it being just below center on most cars, including my stock Festy. What are good, larger easy-to-fit radiators to stick in these cars? The one I have looks like a stock manual-trans rad, i.e. thin, not thicker like the auto ones. Would the auto radiator do the job?

What are good companies to buy rads from? Either McParts stores or online. And which ones know the diff between the manual and auto Festy rads?

I wouldn't be too concerned where the gage sits when running.
I had a low to no reading on the gage of one of mine and checked the connector for the sensor and it broke. So sodered it on the sensor directly and it read just over half way.
Even though nothing else had been changed on the engine.
I assumed I just never had a good reading from the gage.
Before doing anything I think I'd add a reliable temp gage to actually see what the temp is.

Appreciate the comments. Not actually too worried; I'd just be a little happier if the gauge was reading a little lower. I don't have any reason to believe the gauge is at fault. I suspect the big motor is "overpowering" the little radiator, making more heat than the rad is designed to remove.

A auto rad could do the trick for you - I supose it depends on your driving conditions - I dont know if it fits or not but I dont see why it wouldnt - an aspire radiator - you would just have to check for sufficient clearence

And apparently this radiator can be made to fit as well as seen here

Casper already has an auto radiator installed. I might suggest changing the t-stat. I had a cooling issue in my Jeep that all came down to the t-stat not operating correctly.

OK thanks. What year is the engine, by the way?
