oh yes I was gunna make a test trip to vilano beach north of st augustine on monday to catch some waves but windy weather wasnt worth driving 400 miles round trip , ive made a trip to daytona at 80mph or more whole way with some custom and stock harley truck heads loaded up in the back with no problems . Im definatley going and feel way more comfortable riding up with a caravan at my back! anyone else gunna be joining?

I stopped by another body shop on the way home from work tonight and got a second estimate. The guy that was doing the estimate enter "refinish work on roof panel" and a message popped up on the computer saying the car was totaled. Guess you will never be able to get a festiva repaired if you are involved in an accident. It totals real quick. Anyway the estimate for the same things I mentioned yesterday came to $1275. Thats to paint the roof, two bumper covers, two mirrors and a spoiler. The covers, mirrors and spoiler are off of the car. Guess Im going to have to learn how to paint or find someone I can swap labor with. Cant see paying that much to have a couple of things painted. What would it cost to paint a whole car I wonder ? $10,000 ?

I got quoted $500 to replace the rocker panel on my 300ZX and $2500 for a complete re-paint including changing the rocker

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I must look like a dumb rich guy. I probably fit the first part of the profile but Id think the festiva would disspell the rich part.

The esimate came to $776.09. Going to take it to another place tomorrow. Oh yeah, he called it a Fiesta before I corrected him. $252 refinish, $504 labor, $20.09 tax.[/QUOTE]

Marcus -- The labor is the most cost usually. Wow- too bad you can't use that $$ for another car to buy someday.
I guess clear coat is good, OK, but I like the regular good quality enamel when painting...I try to do myself.

I may try to do something to it myself. I wonder how much a big blue vinyl decal would cost for the roof. Tuck it under the front top windsheild molding and down in the rain gutters and youd never know it was there.

I'll leave that up to you. I'll have a free weekend in sept some time. Hopefully the hoods get done, and I'll paint that also.
