At what RPM does my Shift Light come on?

I have a 88 carb festiva 4 speed, and i drive it at fun as i can without my front drivers side break

But i noticed that my little "Shift" light comes one. I understand why it comes on. Im just wondering at what rpm it comes on, and also if it changes for each gear.

Like for instance if it comes on in first gear at 5000rpm, but in second it comes on at 4000rpm.

If anyone has any insight into the "Shift" light i would be greatly appreciative.
Also thinking i could silkscreen over the top and rigt !!!TURBO!!! instead of shift. For the lalwz

I think its not so much a certain rpm as it is throttle input.

^ correct, the shift light is there to suggest to you when it would be apropriate to upshift to achieve maximum economy for the given situation. think of it as a fuel meiser.

I'm sure someone has the rpms, my owner's manual doesn't give rpms at shift, it gives the speeds at which to shift. Now I'm going to have to see how close I am to spec.

Wow Thanks, And i believe you are correct muscle_Car1 about the throttle position, because this morning coming in i was in 3rd and probably 2000rpm and it came on. It didnt make sense, but now it does. Thanks:toothy9:

I dont know anything about a meet, but wheres it at, and what time? Id be interested in going, and perhaps bringing my girlfriend too.
