  • Aspire Endangered Species?

I am starting look for Aspire parts for brake swap and there don't seem to be many around. Did they all get crushed when scrap steel was high? Maybe just a little dry spell at the pull a part. Lots of Escorts, one Festy. Zero Aspire.

Not sure if they got scrapped, or if they just haven't made it into the yards yet. Have only seen one Aspire in the 6 or 7 yards that I have within 40 miles of me. And it had clearly been rolled.

I just missed the last two that were used for Pizza delivery down the alley.... scrapped to the crusher a few days ago, and they would not give me a chance at them this time!
Asked if they would sell them one day, two days later I saw them on the truck headed out.....

I don't think as many have made it to the JYs yet. I also suspect they didn't sell as well as the Festys, so there are probably less of them out there. Festivas sold for six years, and Aspires for only four I believe.

Move to Australia mate. On average you might find 6-10 at any given yard. Not to say they are in good nick though
But i do agree, they are becoming more rare and rarely seen in good condition.

I have seen a few here, but they always seem to have been harvested for an aspire swap

Luckily my Aspire came with the Aspire swap from the factory. :-)

I wonder if there is a profit opportunity there somewhere. Remove a container-load of non smog related Australian parts and ship them by boat to US of A. Probably not enough nuts on this end. I imagine with China being closer to you than us, they have vacuumed up all the spare metal from you as well.

You know- I HAD once thought (if we were financially secure of course) of slowly collecting them and stripping / restoring them. While i think the demand would be high, the profit would not.
