Stuck lug nuts and funny pictures

Trying to get tire off to check brakes and no luck. Went through two sockets. one regular and one impact. both broke. found the oringinal lug wrench. didnt work. put on a pipe for leverage and this happened.





now do the rear lugs only mount into the drum?
im out of options to get them off but to cut or grind them.

WOW.........you must be uber strong.....You should change your name to ....he-man...You should be able to shoot some lube on them from the back. Heat will help...and an impact gun. Keep us posted

put some PB blaster on the lug bolts liberally....

I did use Pb lots of it. yes i know lefty loosey. lol
the nuts only mount into the drum itsself so i can just replace the drum if i cut them off and get new bolts correct?

Yup, they just go into the drum. If you can get the centercap off with the wheel on you can remove the nut and take off the drum with the wheel attached to it.

I had that happen once too. Take the whole drum off, and heat it from the backside. Down side is you loose the leverage it being on the car, but...... and remember right drum/ left hand threaded bearing nut. You don't need a stripped stub axle right now too.

BTW, i still have that bent tire iron! Not bent that bad though!

I just caught up with what you are doing.... Check the line that comes from the other side over the gas tank. Mine always gave trouble right where the turn is at a union in front of the left rear tire. That line, and the left front where it passes through the plastic grommet to the flex line rust out the worst it seems. Ive had these problems on all my rustier cars! One other thing, once you find the problem, just allow the brakes to gravity bleed unless you have a spare master cylinder laying around. All my rusty ones cut a boot in the master cylinder if I made the mistake of hitting the brake pedal before letting them bleed themselves.

This happened to me used lots of pb and heat actually had to drill one out no fun

Why don't you remove the stake nut in the middle and pull the whole wheel/drum off. Then heat them up from the inside and use an impact from the outside. You really need to use an impact and put some crippling blows to those lug bolts.

Went and got a real good socket this time. i tighten them down some to break it loose then reverse off as normal

You could go down to the caterpillar place and see if they have a open end wrench that size that is meant to beat on. Then get out your trust BFH and hopefully you won't get hit in the head by flying wrenches.
