  • Rebuilding entire brake system

    finally got the lugs off here is what i found. the brake is filthy with grease everywhere, on the spring, shoes and drums. drum is rusted to where it chips apart very easily.




    any one else come across this before.

    rust issue....yes....grease no. Looks like the grease was getting past the seal....new drums and brake parts, you should be good to go. Replace the bearings while you are in there....they are cheap enough.

      all that and replacing wheel cylinders as well.

                  No. It's spray paint... I should of used por-15 though. These brakes won't even see a winter anyways.

                    finally after over a week i have the rears done. had to wait on parts then replace parts after i got em together. now $175. in the hole lol but well worth it

                        I did the drums when I first got my car. I regret not putting the money into an aspire brake swap.

                        1993 Festiva L, aspire swapped, selling parts for a BP+T build.
