Headlight switch replacement

By chance has any of you just bypassed the steering column mounted headlight switch that's found on the '93 Festiva and just installed a push/pull type switch on the dash and a seperate(poss. floor style) bright/dim switch?

Thinking I may go this route since it seems this headlight/wiper switch assembly is only available in JYs now.
