    Whew!!! Dents Dents Dents!!!

    Continuing on the Shtinky's refurbishment, I actually talked myself into pulling out the long and short boards to check out the extent of the hail damage in the center top of the car.
    MISTAKE!! 28 hail dents to fix!!! I hate doing finish work!!!
    Have owned 9 so far
    White 89 L converted to LX "The Curmudgeon" Being a Curmudgeon right now.
    Blue 89 L converted to LX "Shtinky" FMS crate engine,cam,flywheel,hail dents
    Smurf Blue 90 LX "Smurffy" He Ran Away From Home!!!!!! Says Willie loves him more than I did!
    Red 88 L converted to LX "Rasta, Mon" Now retired
    Where did all these @#*&%$ Toyotas come from around here?

    Hail Yeah!!! Sorry, I couldn't resist. Fixing hail dents sucks majorly. Been there, done that. Best of luck.

      Thanks! I will need lots of that! They have only been there since we got him about six years ago now. I have the rockers and wheel wells sewn up now, and changed out the hood, grille, and headlight trim at least. I HAVE to get the rest of this finished soon before the weather turns so I can get Vicki and the kids in him for the winter, and officially retire Rasta since I sold the Taurus to a friend who REALLY needed a car this summer. That had been her winter car the last couple of years, and I still think I will live to regret letting it go because of the remote start. She liked wasting gas having a warm car waiting for her.

        Wow. Time for a fun top! The hole cut for the fun top should remove 20 or so dents. Having done a lot of body work over the years, I can say that roof would take require a great deal of alcohol to get fixed. As thin as the metal is, no way I would want to tackle that. There is a reason hail damaged car are totaled by insurance co.s.
        Get a mallet ... no wait too much work... get a beer, give the neighbor hood kids a softball and have them make the dents uniform over the whole car..... Dentstiva.

        Seriously though, happy sanding. Have you decided on a color for the paint job?

          Considered ALL of the above..... Trust me!!! The car was totalled before I got it, and has a "cosmetic total loss" title because of the hail, and a minor damaged front end.
          I put this off for probably as long as I can. I even tried to sell Shtinky a couple of years ago, and the wife wouldn't hear of it. She turned down a Funtop car once before as his replacement about five years ago when she picked Rasta over a 92 Sport.
          She said she didn't want the kids to get sunburnt!!!!! (LMAO)

          Life is interesting, it's story more so......
          One day I will have to write up Shtinky's story... maybe a FOTM sometime.
