I've never had any problems doing it. You are running the engine around 4,000 rpm at those speeds.

Oh I know! a three hour drive of pure motor noise ha... I just floored it once and got it up to 80+ just to make sure I wasn't redlining it at 75 haha.
Fortunately I had 4 blown speakers in the car to listen to music on the ride home ha! Better than nothing!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In answer to your question, I rolled (confirmed by a VA state trooper) 80-85 mph for 400 miles or so on my way to FM3. And I didn't really see any ill effects. I can see where a 5th gear would have been nice, but never owned a 5 speed Stiva, so I guess I'm just used to dealing with 4.Originally posted by Charlie1717 View Post

Thanks! That's good to hear. How do you do on Gas Mileage at those speeds? I haven't really calculated my MPG yet but I think I got maybe mid 30's which doesn't seem bad at 75.
