  • Interesting Ford Encounter

The one day I get off early from work my key breaks off in the ignition allowing me to start the car with the broken off nub and a Gerber. I just make it to the Ford dealership in time to be 10 min late for the parts department closing (parts can be accesed from outside). So I walk up front to go inside the service department and it just so happens the owner and a few salesmen are standing by the front door. I ask a salesman if theres anyone still there that can make a key for me . . . even though parts closed. He said you'll have to come back at 7:00am - I then asked if there was a way to pay for the key and have it shipped to me because I work from 6:30 to 5:30 and its a half hour drive into town from work (Parts closes at 5). The owner then asks the salesman what time it is; to which he replies 12 past. Then the owner escorts me back to the Service desk the whole way asking me about the festy. once we get back to the service desk the owner asks if someone can make a key for me. When I tell the service desk what kind of car it is they to get real interested in it as well. Unfortunately they did not have any stock plugs to make my key from. However they were able to regrind an old used key and it worked perfect. So I now have a Ford key again (however not stock) instead of a generic key. On the way out all of the salesmen were admiring the festy. All in all it was a great Ford experience.
