  • My new festy

    man im tired...
    just drove 381 miles round trip to pick up my newest festy.
    its a 1989 L with 169,899 miles with no rust(i aint found any)
    runs, but makes loud nocking noise at higher rpms.
    just drove it 15 miles down road at 40 with no problems.(noise was not noticable)
    THANKS SPARKY FOR ALL UR HELP WITH THIS FIND...
    this is the car all my work is gonna go into(BP swap, aspire swap,etc)
    since its a nicer body.
    will post more pix tomorrow
    btw... only paid $200 for it, plus $75 in gas picking it up

        That car looks like a car that was at Madness 2.

          It's a 1989 L 4-speed that was owned by a guy who hadn't any idea these little jewels had such a following, so I don't think it's the one you saw at FMII. We couldn't find a lick of rust on the body anywhere...Gestiva is going to have a ball working with this one, methinks.

                  That looks to be in really good shape! Nice find!
                  The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!

                    drove it last night bout 30 miles around town. never got above 35mph.
                    just putting along, the knock isnt noticable.(kinda sounds like a sewing machine)
                    for sure first thing tuesday is all wheel bearings...
                    shocks are bouncy. brakes are really good. adusted ebrake and it works good.
                    in the next weeks to come will follow:
                    engine replacement/rebuild
                    wheel bearings
                    wash and wax
                    clean inside seat/carpet
                    swap to 5 speed
                    list to make it a DD

                          Nice find! And well worth the trip. If it had the hockey stick stripes, it would look exactly like mine. I like the black around the door windows.
