  • Unfortunately totalled my 'Stiva about a month ago. . .

I had just put a new engine into it a month or so prior to totalling it, and was getting between 35-40mpg with an auto trans.

Long story short, I still have the old engine , which burned ALOT of oil , predominantly on 2 cylinders (can't remember which two off the top of my head) .

If you want it , contact me and we'll make arrangements to come and get it.

Most parts are still on it, as the "new" engine was basically complete.

Just to reiterate , I only have the old , oil burning engine.

Come pick this thing up , it's yours for free ! The engine is in Alsip , Illinois , about 30-45min. south of Downtown Chicago.

Where did the car go? J/Y? Can you buy it back from the insurance?

I'm sure the car went to the J/Y. I live in an apt , have nowhere to store it, and honestly don't want it at this point.

I'm ok, need to go have my hand checked out, think I dislocated my right ring finger , it's sitting kinda funny. Hand was swollen bad for about a week, and less so for another week. No real pain to speak of, just a dull ache for the first week. Thanks for asking.

I bought a '93 Escort 1.9 with a 5spd for $500 ! Car is from North Carolina, about 99% rust free. Needs some TLC, but it's VERY solid for the price. I sure am missing the fuel economy of the 'Stiva , though. The 'Scort is only getting low to mid 20 Mpg.

I still have the old engine from the Festiva , come and get it, PLEASE !

I forgot, but I just had the alternator rebuilt , so if anyone is interested $60 + shipping and it's yours.

I went through 2 Pep Boy's alternators before I got a good one. The 3rd one was good. During that fiasco my brother took the original alternator to a shop he does alot of business with , I wanna say it's located in Bridgeview, and had it rebuilt. My cost is your cost.

          NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

This is such a sad story. I hate reading stuff like this and Tom's thread. If I were closer, I'd come get it just to pull apart for the experience and rebuild eventually. I'm sure someone will snap it up.
