  • Stupid question...

Ive searched the forums to avoid Monsoons wrath, but I couldn't find any ways to tell what model festiva it is, L, Lx, etc... just wondering some ways to identify. Thanks
    Tyler

91 Festiva, 5spd, B8 swapped, now for paint and suspension

The easiest way is to post pictures and let everybody guess, but you can figure it out by what year it is, what upgrades it has...i.e. power mirrors, a/c, tach, power steering, rear wiper/defrost, center console...etc

      Try this link:

it should tell you everything about it.

      edit:
it will no longer do a direct link, but in the search box type in VIN, and it will give you a vin decoder. This should say what it is.

I went to the link and typed in "festiva" in the search box. It said nothing found, and asked "Did you mean Fiesta?"

That list is 99% correct. That makes me want to start a thread about "oddities".
As an example, how many have to hold thier door latches up while locking the door? or how many have a white interior light door switch? All my 89 L's have the blacked out "B" pillar/door/quarters.

I have to hold the handle up on just one out of six I have right now. The rest, just close the door.

when i close the door on mine it closes fine but the roof makes a noise like you would hear if you take a big sheet of thin sheetmetal, grab the end of it and shake it up and down lol it doesnt sound healthy

Correct me if im wrong but according to the link posted that shows a list of all options 88 -93 years . It seems that all 91-93 festivas wont have a tachometer cluster.

And getting a 88-89 tach cluster and swapping it out is your best bet. If that theory is correct then this leads me to my next question, Will swapping out a tachometer cluster from a 88-89 carb'd festiva work in a later 91-93 festiva that is fuel injected?

I've only recently acquired the passion & genuine interest in these little pint-sized speed demons (mind you when engine swapped). But i've been passing up aspires and festivas at the yard for a long time. Right now there are 2 aspires 2dr manual ,4dr auto, 1 88 festiva L,
323gt turbo, and a 626 gt turbo. A legion of proteges and 1 escort Gt. I guess i should get the festiva console, split rear seat, underseat passenger tray, smooth tails & 88 grill considering they are hard items to come by.

What's with this "holding the door handle up" when locking the door? Never heard of that one. My '89L works just like my '92 and '93 models. No handle touchy to locky! Just locky! (Okay, sometimes wiggle locky is needed.)
