well ever since i talked to dean (v8festiva) on the phone and he was talking about all the totaly rust free festivas in nc , i was thinking of buying one when i go down for fm4 , its about 900 miles , think its possible ?

Done it before. It's definitely doable. I didn't do long distance towing like many others, but my Festy seemed to tow the other one (which was loaded down with 500+lbs of parts and a friend) 40 miles across hilly farm roads just fine.
I would recommend changing your transmission oil before and after the trip, as towing is pretty hard on a tranny.

Manual tranny in neutral shouldn't be an issue whatsoever.
