on a obd II p0420 trouble code would a leaking exhaust pipe after the converter and oxygen sensor cause this code to come up?

    thank you for your time.

Hey, I have had this code come up in cars before, and it usually means the oxygen sensor or catalytic converter, I would suggest checking your oxygen sensor. I don't think a leaking exhaust afterwards would cause it. Probably a good idea to fix that leak though!

how far after the converter? check to see if the rear O2 is still swinging and that should point you to the part that is bad. RECOMENDATION: if you replace the cat, replace the rear O2 as well.
