  • May get a festiva again.

Hi there. I joined here a good while back when I was planning on getting a festiva. Ended up buying something else, (71 VW beetle) but I in the market for a car again. Considering a festiva.

My question is are there any ways to make them a little peppier without swapping engines? It will be my DD so I dont want to do anything quite that major.

    Thanks for looking.

i turbocharged the 1.3 in two festivas, that made the stock engine peppier.

You can make sure its all tuned up right, get a msd box, and make a cold air intake.

Not much to do to the b3 to give it much pep.

cold air intake, header (if you can find one, or make one), fms cam, maby an aspire trans swap... and if you want a bit more pep at times but not all the time maby some nitrous... but i dont think thats a good idea lol...

Bump the timing up by 5 degrees, Get some cold (outside the engine compartment) air to the motor and add a low restriction exhaust. You'll need to run higher octane gas.

An Aspire transmission will definitely make the car accelerate better, but will cost about 2 MPG and first gear will be really short.
