I asked Mike the same question. Here's his response....

The turbo I'm using is from a Probe or MX 6 .....VJ 11 I think. It's stock ecxpt I opened up the waste gate hole about .150".
The Rebuild was just a stock part, blue print job. New pistons, Rod bolts, All the valves and of course rings bearing and gaskets.
The head is almost stock, just a Little clean up work in the bowl of the ports. Stock MX 3 cams not sure on the Timing I didn't deg them before I took it apart and I set them on the dyno for the best torque.
I cut the block and fit the pistons .023/.025 out of the hole with a stock head gasket.
I made the rest based on engine math and what I have seen on road race cars.
This was my first "Self made turbo kit"
It can make more power with the cam timing but looses torque and does not drive as smooth.
I'm almost done with my MX 3 F gear box. I will post some pic's of the parts when done.
