  • Say hello to everybody!

    Hello everybody!
I am new here. First let me introduce myself. I am a Chinese student studying in Melbourne. Before I come here I just bought a used Ford Festiva with several problems, such as leaks and very noisy engine.
Then I decide to DIY my car but I even haven't driven before. And I found here from google. I believe the procession must be a lot of fun. I hope some warm-hearted ones can help me and give me some advice from the very basic, such as what to read or what tools to prepare.
    Thank you very much.:jerk:

Welcome to the site! first off if you put your location in your profile it will help users later on know where you are located, that way if theres a member near you they can lend a hand fixingyour troubles

second, if you have a repair question just post in the Repair Help Forum

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

              Many Chinese in Australia.
Probably calls himself Adam because most of us couldn't pronounce his given name, well except for you, Tom!
Had a Chinese GTA for P-Chem, great guy, told me of the time he built a recorder from sewing thread spools and a read/write head and a few other bits.
To record music from the "radio free" station outside of China.
He was ratted out by someone in his village and spend many months in jail!

              Oh, almost forgot welcome Adam:wav:

hey man, welcome to the wacky but "fun" world of festivas! this site is certainly worth investing some time into, lots of info... i would recommend reading here, there is a great search option for any and all subjects... and getting a Haynes manual, should be easy to find at your local auto parts store, although they may hafto order it down there... not sure your budget, but a good set of box wrenches i hear is a great spot to start. inexpensive sets have been known to be a waste of money, i try to look around at local second hand stores. good luck - i wouldn't call it all fun n games for sure, but there is an extremely satisfying feeling of doing it yourself and coming out on top. you may need to consult your health practitioner on stress relief though and i'm gonna take the fact that your smilie is giving me the finger as a newbie mistake... cheers
light a man a fire and he'll stay warm for the night.
