  • Local Kia Dealer Discraced Festiva

"PUSH IT IN! TOW IT IN! DRAG IT IN! Any old clunker will do!" (Que the guy pushing the Festiva) This is the local Kia dealership! I don't know what to think! I've written the dealership an email. I explained to them (even though they might not care) that the Festiva was in fact a Kia Pride, and that I would never buy a car from them because they disrespected their lineage by their own ignorance. I couldn't find the commercial to show you guys, but if I can find it, I will! Worfdog especially and some in NC have seen this, I'm sure. Any comments? I guess maybe I was wrong for doing it, but I know that BMW wouldn't do something like that if an owner drove into their dealership in an almost antique Bimmer.

Maybe we could e-mail them some meet pictures so that they understand there are large numbers of these cars still around.

We could convoy down there in large numbers and block access to the dealership as a protest

Man! I wish people would "push, pull, or drag" them to my house! I could use some parts

This makes me wonder how many Festivas were wrongly euthanized during the big Cash for Clunkers push. I run a small salvage business on the side so I haul scrap cars to recyclers when they've donated all they can and let me tell you...it was a sad sight to see. I saw so many really nice vehicles getting junked it was sickening. You could get some of the body parts but that was about it. They were required by law to lockup all the motors by pouring "liquid glass" in the cylinders. I held out hope for our little cars though, because it would be really hard for someone to trade in a Festy for something that got better fuel mileage

I also wonder if that dealer realizes that the Festiva he used in that commercial will still be going long after all the new Kias he sells will be just a memory and pile of metal confetti a la the shredder

^^ I love the way this guy thinks!

zanzer... V8Festiva and I have hit several j/y's around the state looking for Festy & Aspire parts. Of course there's Pull-A-Part in Charlotte. There are 2 j/y's in Winston-Salem w/Festy/Aspire stuff and a HUGE j/y just south of Goldsboro w/3 Festy's & 4 Aspires! Additionally we found another 4 j/y's in the Burlington area, but don't know what Festy/Aspire items they might have.

PM one or both of us. We're considering another major j/y run in a couple of weeks. Maybe you could join us then! Open invitation guys & gals!

Focustiva: Because I was told it was was impossible to fit a Focus bumper on a Festiva.

After the parts transferable to a Festiva have been removed.

Hahaha! Send the dealer an email saying; "Make more Kia's! They make GREAT Festiva parts cars!"
