The crank shaft on the rear of my engine has a groove from the old seal. Has any one here ever used one of these? They are about twice the cost of a OEM seal at $28. Is it worth the extra cost? Do they work?

I've never used one on the rear main end of the crank but I've used tons of them on harmonic balancers and they work great. 2 of my personal vehicles with big block 460's have them installed on the balancers and I've installed them on many other makes and models with the "seal groove". I always apply a small amount of loctite to the inside before I drive them on. Prolly doesn't need it...but it makes me feel better.
