What's involved in buying a car overseas and shipping to the states and then registering it? There's one country in particular, Australia, that I would love to get a few festiva's or 121 over here. Lately it seems i've seen a few bmw's and another make with foreign license plates, the cost of those cars from Germany compared to here is worth it though. Anybody know?

most of those vehicles are brought over by military personel. They buy a car overseas that meets US safety and emission specs, then have it imported when they return to the states. If its a model that's US safety AND emission certified, all I can say is "good luck".

Don't forget too that Australian cars are right hand drive like the UK and Japan.
