  • Phantom Grip LSD's (my version)

The other night i pulled the phantom grip LSD out of my B6T tranny and today i took it to a tooling shop to get a quote for re-producing it for the G-series transmissions

If i had copies made i would enlarge the holes for the spring so i could install springs that would be even stronger then phantom grips upgrade springs

So if i got these made up i would sell them for $175 shipped (as compared to phantom grips price of $300) and i'm looking to see how much interest there would be for them on here

I would also be willing to install them for $225 + shipping of the tranny

    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

What kind of time are we talking about to install them. Is it a pretty tough job?
The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!

When i took my tranny apart to pull the phantom grip out, i dis-assembled it and re-assembled it in about 1 1/2 - 2 hours (mind you this is the third tranny i've dis-assembled so the time is decreasing), its not necessarily a hard task but you need to pay close attention to what parts go where

if you didn't live in Canada I would be all over that. Shipping to and from Canada is ridiculous.

Since i'd be changing the design (by changing spring sizes) it would technically be my own design instead of a duplicate of phantom grips

I would love to have one Chris, but would be able to make for the f series tranny as well?
Because that is what will have.

I can't garentee the spacing between spider gears is the same between the F and G series, if the F series is smaller clearance then the LSD won't fit in place, if it has more space then the springs wont be able to put the intended pressure on the gears to work properly

I got super lucky and snagged mine for like $150 on e-bay, but if you make some with stronger springs Dane is looking to get one to build a G series for his B6t car... so I'm sure he'd be down for one!
