  • Close call with the festiva tonight..

On the way home there were 3 deer crossing the road, and I came about 5 feet or so from hitting one of them. The aspire brakes slowed it down nice and quick bet I might have hit it with stock brakes..

Yet another reason to upgrade, not hitting the giant rodents. Good for you.

Hmm, I think I will definitely have to look into this brake swap now. I don't want to hit anything with mine, there aren't many in JY's around here, so I'd have a hell of a time fixing it.

I feel your pain bro! One was beside the road when I was out driving the other night and it had that look in it's eye like "I can make it across". I tensed up and was like "oh no...please no". Pretty much the same feeling I get when I see one standing on the shoulder when I'm riding my bike. It's like I told a friend today, a Festiva is basically a motorcycle with a heater.

                How are the stock brakes?
My Festy has power brakes (brake booster and vacuum hose running to engine) but they feel like regular brakes- requires a good amount of pushing on the pedal, and doesn't really stop faster if you push harder. I've had to use engine braking a couple of times because I'm used to the excellent brakes on my truck...
Are stock festy brakes this weak, or are my pads/rotors/drums bad? The car doesn't pull or shake when braking.

shoot thats why we got the e-brake. I like to test mine from time to time to ensure it works and see the facial expressions on the passengers face.
