  • sad day yesterday

I decided to phone around for some swoopies off the shelf yesterday. The first place I phoned in Fergus had a pair on the computer that said they were sitting there for 10 years. But, when he went to look, they had thrown them out and not taken them off the computerized inventory.

I phoned Belleville, and they said they had a pair sitting in inventory. I asked them to double check. I didn't want to get too exited again. Guess what? They had them! A second pair of swoopies to bring to Ohiostiva 2010. Can you say Visa?

I found a single driver swoopy for me at another yard.

    Happy day after all.

Did I mention I have a lead on a third pair of swoopies?

If Maya would let me change her mirrors I could even get a fourth pair...

I am leaving for Michigan in a few minutes. I will be hitting a number of yards on the way.
I hope they are not too muddy. It was +5 C in Toronto yesterday and should be above freezing all week.

I would be interested in a pair of swoopys if you would be willing to sell them before the meet. Thanks

      depressing news

They didn't send me the swoopies from Belleville! They threw them out even though I gave them my Visa number. Sorry everyone. They didn't know I could put Protoge guts in them and make them as good as new!

Great news. I know a junk yard where there is a Festiva sitting with the Swoopies still on it. It just came in this week!

Too bad my boss doesn't leave for Spain until next week!

Have you ever noticed that there is more bad news than good news? But, there is always good news. At least I can have a chance at the entire power mirror wiring harness.

        another false alarm

Phoned a yard in Quebec this morning. The computer said they had a spoiler. Gave credit card number and address, only to be phoned back that it was gonzo without a trace. The eternal optimist asked if there was anyone else around that had one. Yes. Phoned. Confirmed it is there! Yes. Yes. Yes. Will get it tommorow and tell you what additional color I'm bringing to Ohiostiva. DId I forget to mention I got another Escort rear wiper gear at the junk yard at lunchtime (besides getting exercise sawing of an Intrepid muffler)?

They are power mirrors that came on '90 LX's, but you can also find them on some Mazda Proteges. Here is a link that has some pictures of what they look like.http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=12226

              it's black

The spoiler came today as promised. It has all the caps, screws, etc. I sure hope someone with a black festiva and no spoiler shows up at Ohiostiva in two months time.
I'm still on the prowl for more swoopies.
I had a call from a yard today, that a 93 Festiva came in. First dibs tomorrow.
I was busy picking up my lighted mini cooper mirrors and New Mexico Aspire parking brake assembly from Lewiston, NY.
My it was a beautiful, warm sunny day today.

^^if your coming to Ohiostiva, we could convoy there

                1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
                1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

                  by van

I'm swinging by Port Huron to pick up everything from storage and then coming down I-94. My van will be completely full of goodies (sport seats, door panels, swoopies, spoilers, emblems, even a beautiful green back hatch. I will be going to the Woodward in my Festiva this August. I just picked up my custom throttle cable from Green Sky Adventures today. Actually, a good news day.

                    picture

Since the other black spoiler thread is closed...

Today, I took some pictures of the black spoiler I will be bringing to Ohiostiva

I know it looks a little dirty, but I will have to leave it like that until I get it through customs. Then I will bring out the polishing compound. Please notice that the original caps and screws are all there.

What's sad is the Mini Cooper mirrors I got need surgery in order to fit. I have already removed the plastic mounts. Pictures to follow.
