  • people who own a festy, but shouldn't!!

I was in town today, and I was pulling out onto this road, and here goes zipping past is a silver festy, so I quickly decided to try and follow him, well, of course there had to be a semi turning in front of me in the same direction I was going, so I was a little behind him, I followed the semi to a 4 way intersection, and the festy was no where to be found, but I decided to go straight anyway, and then I pulled down into a Super America gas station to get a munchie, I bought my chips and donut, walked out to my car, and all of a sudden the festy goes zipping right past my back bumper! Didn't look twice, wave or anything! I was dissapointed, because if he was a true festy owner, he would have been excited to see another festy! It was even an 88-89 LX...

He's probably one of those folks looking for a cheap ride and don't give a hoot what it is. Trade him a Metro and save that Festiva! LOL

Well thats just sad. Well not everyone is intrigued with the festiva. Anyways, how far are you from the twin cities? I grew up in Brooklyn Center myself.

There are people like us that really love these cars and then there are people that don't really care about them, they just wanted a cheap car.

I'm kind of half half so to say. I wanted a cheap car. But also like the fact it has some style to it and could be made into a nice looking driver. But i'm aslo not going to go out of my way to chase down another festiva on the road. Unless it has a factory rear spoiler, then i'll ask if they want to sell that part!

I know the feeling.....a high school kid and his brothers had a rather nice red one near me a few years ago, and now it is dented, bashed, etc. etc, and 3'rd and 4'th gear out, just a POS running around, will see it someday in the roadside or salvage yard...eewwwww !!

And at the time I first seen it, it could have been cleaned up and saved for years of good driving.

I know how you feel. Some people I talk to about their Festies, and yes, I talk to pretty much anyone sitting still in their Stiva, just go on and on about their cars, their plans, etc. Others are clearly either driving them because of gas mileage only, or seem embarrassed to be seen in one, or both.

And I have been known to follow an interesting looking Festy for quite a few miles, hoping the driver would stop.

I was driving North on HWY 55 monday evening from Arnold,Mo. when I spotted a blue Festiva in front of me. I was going faster than it was, it changed lanes just as I was catching up to it. He didnt see me and I was right next to him, I honked, the guy looked over, seen my Festy and gave me the best look of surprise, and then gave me a big grin and a big thumbs up
So far, every Festiva owner i've come across has done this.

A Festiva caught my eye parked outside the office as I was passing a JY (crusher yard). Stopped and asked about who etc. It was a customer's car. We chatted a little and I found out he and his family have been trashing these sweet little rides for 5 or 6 years "out on the farm" in a town called Bunker Hill, IL. They had their private demo derby going on. He didn't make any offers or invitations. I didn't ask. This was within weeks of buying my blue 92 a few years back. I wasn't a member of FF yet and I didn't realize the value of parts and the compassion.

                        Festivas are HOLY!!

But some folks are not aware. Their eyes are open but they are blind.

We should incorporate into a Church. Then all our Festivas would be TAX EXEMPT.

We would be IN ADDITION TO other religions, not in place of them. Athiests, polytheists, Wobblies, Shakers and born again Egyptians would all be welcome.

We would celebrate the Festiva Sacred, each in our own way.

"Blessed be the little cars, for they sip gas and take up no more space than necessary!"

                        Someone gimme an "AMEN!"

                              But of course!

Aluminum Festivus poles would be tax free, along with all of our car parts, oil changes and gasoline!! Deductions galore!
