Yep, once the door locks are used a bit, you can pretty much open them with anything. I had mine locked one day, and my four year old daughter wanted to play in the car. So I gave her a set of keys that did not have the key for the car on it and told her "If you can unlock the door, I'll let you play in it." A couple minutes later I looked over, and she was sitting in the car. I asked her how she got in and she showed me. She stuck the key in(the wrong key), turned it and it unlocked. I can unlock it with a screwdriver.

Of course the ignition switch won't do this, so it's a good idea to have a spare key.

My driver's door is like that.

At one time, I was able to start the engine with a screwdriver, but fixed that for obvious reasons.

Whenever I lock the doors, I leave the trunk unlocked just in case...

i use a similar key for my 4runner. when you get the nice factory keys they come with a big hunk of plastic at the end. that key broke in my pocket because of age. all of the copies i get made dont have the plastic on the end and and are about as thick as three credit cards so i keep a spare in my wallet.

i have one for my festiva

yeah i have one for my festiva, kind of soft plastic but it starts the car, the idea is I think that you can keep it in your wallet because its the right size.

I guess it would be easy enough to hide under the car to.

One was included with the 93 that I purchased last. Wouldn't work in either of the doors tho, so I tossed it.

Just my personal opinion but, you'd be money ahead to go to your local hardware store and have a real key made for around $1.00 and carry that with you.

$2.50 shipping plus the $1.00 for the key will cost you more than having a spare key made.

Yeah, I hear on the novelty side of it.................

Heck, I started driving Uncle Fester for the novelty of it, then gas went to over three bucks a gallon..............now it not a novelty any more.

Some day that spare key will come in handy............
