  • Kia Pride CD-5 information needed

    Hi all
I've got a Kia Pride CD-5, which, as far as I can dig from Wikipedia and other online sources, is actually a Mazda 121, model 1987, or a Ford Festiva. The car have 1139 cc carburetor engine, 5 doors.
Could anyone lead me to information sources on the engine, the cab and other usefull information?
    I'm in Vietnam
    Thank for reading

    Hi Toanco and welcome!

I don't have any specific Kia Pride info, but I do have a Mazda 121 pamphlet from the UK around 1988 or so.

It says your 1139 cc (1.1 liter) engine makes 42 KW (56 HP) at 5800 rpm with 88 NM (65 lbs./ft.) of torque at 3600 rpm. It has a 9.4 to 1 compression ratio. The carb should be a 2 stage 2 barrel. Unladen kerb weight should be about 725 kg. Battery type is listed at 33 Ah. The alternator maximum output should be 45 amps.

The maximum speed is listed at 93 mph.

Again, this info should be mostly correct for your 1.1 L Pride, but there is the chance some of it is wrong since it's based on a Mazda 121 UK spec car.

As for your brakes and suspension, all of it should be the same, or close to the same as it is on our Festivas.

Thank you, Safety Guy, for the infor, especially the cab. This is what I've got from manufacturer's Web site (in metric system :lol
      Dimension: 3615x1605x1460 (LxWxH, in mm)
      Base length: 2345
Track width: front 1405, rear 1385
      Ground clearance: 160
      Fuel tank 37 L
Engine: 4 inline, OCH, 1139 cc
Bore x Piston travel: 68.0x78.4 (don't know if the translation is correct or not)
      Max output (PS/rpm) 62/6000
      Max torque (kg.m/rpm) 10.3/3500
      Gear box: manual, 5 speeds
Clutch: single disk with radial spring (don't know if the translation is correct or not)

Any more details about the engine would be interesting. I think the engine is Mazda B1 (someone say Mazda B301) Is it correct or not?

I'm not sure on the designation. "B1" sounds right though.
