    Applied to a Tech college today thats in state, my first program choice was HVAC Technology, second choice was Automotive Collision Technology. Would be sweet if I get in, wish me luck.

        Thats great. Good luck. I think you will enjoy it. those are both good fields. I went to one years ago for auto body repair and then later for welding.

          If the class is full. Some have been really filling up as many unemployed are going back. enrollment has been way up.

            Great chioce. I have to laugh every time I hear politicians talking about "the need for our young people to go to get a college degree..." I watch those guys on Dirty Jobs, doing work they can feel good about and making a decent, and someimes really killer, living. There is indeed something noble about being a tradesman, as long as you take the time to be the best.

            Good luck in either venture, but I would choose auto body repair... the car guy in me would win every time.
            The Mini is now the "big car".

              There is a need for techs. In the engineering field in North Dakota it is hard to get engineering techs for job site inspection or surveying. The pay is good and you don't have learn all the hard stuff the engineers have to learn.

                I agree that there is a great need for skilled tradesmen. College certainly is not for everyone. Good luck in whatever field you end up in!
