  • Civic Springs Interchangeable?

^^Just wondering if anyone has used these springs or might know if they are interchangeable for our cars, my thoughts are yeah I dont see why not but just thought I'd ask the professionals before purchasing...anyone?

It looks like they have one end tapered and it may not fit the perch/hat. What's the overall diameter on those, do you know?

There too stiff and would require cutting to make them lower your car. I tryed them once and didnt like them.

^ How would cut stock civic springs work? Do you know what the spring rate is?

According to FestivaB6TG25MR the 89ish civic springs are a perfect fit.
          Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
          1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
          2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

^ He is using struts from different cars on his Festiva, so I don't know how much of a "perfect fit" it will be with stock struts.

All I can say is that they didnt work for me. Even in the race car they were WAY to stiff and you bounce all over the place. To each thier own though.

^^So does that mean that you were in fact able to use them?

I'm interested in finding out if some stock Civic springs will fit stock Festivas.

1989 Civics weren't yet as heavy as they are now, so stock springs would be stiffer, but not necessarily too stiff. Or CRX springs from those years, which should be same basic design and fitment.

                        CRX curb weights from wiki:

                        '88 DX: 1922 (man.)
                        '89 DX: 2048 (man.)

                        '89 Si: 2138 (man.)

                        '88 HR: 1819
                        '89 HF: 1834

Looks like the weight range would work. But will they fit and provide proper ride height without cutting? Additionally, good used springs from these old cars would be well broken in.
