    Hi All,
Wanted to introduce myself, I'm new to the forum site. My name is Todd, 50 yrs old & I live in Tulsa Oklahoma. I was a Festy owner 15 years ago & had to give it up since the new wife was unable to learn how to use a stick. She's now long gone & I've been searching for another Festy for the last 5 years. What Festy's I've found have been real pieces of crap, until 3 weeks ago. Here in Tulsa there was an ad on craigslist for a 1988 Festy L 5spd & AC, asking price was $600. Owner claimed he had been driving it for several years locally back & forth to work, averaging 5000 miles a year, odometer showed 162K miles. I arrived for an inspection & test drive, she wouldn't start, the owner didn't have a clue, his wrist was a little too bent to have a mechanical bone in his body. I offered $300, he accepted & $50 in tuneup parts + a couple of cans of freon and I was on the road with cold AC to boot!! After closer inspection, it appears one or two owners ago towed the Festy behind a motohome. Anyway, after the tuneup & a little tweeking, I'm getting 30mpg in-town driving the piss out of her & this weekend a trip to the lake on the 75mph turnpike I got 40mpg. I had forgotten how much fun the Festys are to drive, my 2005 Ford F150 has been sitting in the driveway now for a couple of weeks with a sad frown on her face. The Festiva forum is great, I've already gotten plenty of use out of it & when I've had questions, everybody has chimed right in with lots of help. Here are some photos for those of you interested.

            Welcome!

That's an awesome buy for $300! My first one was silver, but nowhere near as nice as yours.

When you topped up the A/C, what refrigerant did you use, and did you add oil?

                  Well, howdy neighbor!

Was that the car that was parked over on Peoria? If it was... we left it for you!

Glad to hear that it's running strong - we've almost got enough folks around here for our own mini-meet now! (Eric!!!! Where are you? LOL!)

                  Hope to see you soon!

Wow! That's one beautiful 22 year old car.

I particularly liked the 1st picture. Crop out the lines in the pavement at the bottom and, with that flash on the mirror and the small mansion in the background, you have a real work of art.
