  • How a $500 Craigslist car beat $400k rally cars.

Professional motorsport is a cold, hard place. If you want to run with the big dogs, you can't just build a car in your mom's garage and show up, right? Wrong. One guy did just that. Here's his amazing story.

By far, this is the most epic racing story I've read about in my life. Definitely brings back hope of actually becoming a professional race car driver some day.
    Current cars:

1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
    1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
    2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.

    Hahahaha, great story!
90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
09 Kia Rondo--a Festy on steroids!

Yes, this is awesome, and yes, it makes me want to buy a cheap-ass car and make it fast and race-able. (Rushes to craigslist to find a cheap Festiva)
