We might get it, but it won't be a Toyota, it will be badged as a Scion here in the USA.

I hope your right, but not going to hold my breath that we would get anything that would be of any help when gas reaches $4+ again!

The Scion iQ is slated to get the 1.5 motor if it comes here. Hwy mileage in the high 30s probably. Very cute, slightly more useful than a Smart car, but a Festy does far more for a total investment of far less--witl mileage as good as the iQ or better, no matter what motor you swap into it. I still vote Festy.
90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
09 Kia Rondo--a Festy on steroids!

I'd take the Aston-Martin Cygnet version, but you have to own an AM first to be eligible to buy one.
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

Isn't that part of the reason we all have Festiva's?

                        haha, yeah. exactly

as far as the "smaRtuki" goes, I wouldn't go with a 1000 k2 engine, I'd go with a busa engine. that last video of the guy drifting was kind of cool. They kept repeating that one switchback but in slow-mo was sweet (time: just after 1:45).

as far as the IQ. I won't diss it, it's pretty cool. I like the chevy beat. I'll have to check out that AM cygnet

There will never be a car that cost less to drive than an original festiva. You can do your own repair and maint. work on a festiva, probably not true with the $20,000 IQ or Smart car.
