Fuelly allows you to tracks your gas mileage over time, helping you calculate fuel expenses as you drive.

Looks like I averaged 47ish during my time driving it. Best is 52.9 though. Highway trip with two bikes hanging off the back and a bunch of camping stuff inside.

Just keep the rpms as low as possible. Do the speed limit. An auto might be better suited to cruising around town at 35 or so than 65 on the freeway.

Could always try an aspire auto swap. Those had lockup torque converters, probably good for a few hwy mpg.

I've known a few carby 5 speeds to regularly get 48-49.

O.O Oh God. Um, yeah... On my way back from Raliegh a few weeks ago, I calculated that I got 36.7mpg on a carby 5-speed at an average speed of 67mph.

Sorry guys, he was the first one to welcome me and help me out. He gave me a motor for like 50 dollars, and brought it to me. Shore going to miss that guy.

I get 34mpg all the time with my B6 5spd. Hardly ever under 75mph.

I used to get 33 religiously in my 93 auto in town or highway AC or not floored for a whole tank or feathered for a tank. Then I ran it hard on the highway and started getting 26. I put in some fuel investor cleaner and will update as soon as that tank is out.

definitely! you'd get at least 35-45 mpg then, alot of people have got around 50 mpg with a 5 spd festiva.
