A metal rod antenna (probably old cell phone) or are you talking about an aftermarket rear window defroster taped to the back window?
(Chevy Vegas at one time had metal tape antennas attached inside their windshields. I haven't seen one of those in ages.)
My best guess is you're talking about an antenna in a hole put through the rear glass. Aftermarket car/cell phone from around the early nineties or so.

Sunroof, stereo and detailing places often did car antenna work. I heard they used special tools to put the hole in the glass. I think I've seen similar antennas on police cars too.

cable,
i checked it out this cable thing is right thru the glass. says the letters A S on the bottom piece on the outside. this is a factory item screw on female type brass colored end under the drivers seat which came from the piece on the back glass. will take pics soon.
