    picked up this 88 festy L model 4 speed, rear defog, very good tires,high mileage at 217000 miles for $300.did complete tune up. put new carpet,cleaned the rest of the interior, gonna put seat covers,bumper was pushed in a bit on passenger front side,from previous light hit, cracked driver corner light,fender was pushed in. replaced all items myself had parts from previous cars,car is red, replaced fender is white ,looking to spray can some kind of primer black, grey, or red , on car with white wheels. i also have another everyday driver 88 festy L. i bought this one about six years ago when i lived in fla.only had 17650 orig miles bought it for $700. what color primer and manufacturer ? would appreciate any input. thanks

    Nice score. I've had pretty good luck with Rustoleum.

    Your best bet is to find another red fender. Should be pretty easy, considering how common red ones are.

      fender

      to much work. this car was hit and i saw where its wrinkled under the hood below the headlight area. took me a couple of hours to make it fit, not perfect but better than before.i also added another mirror,also added the door pockets,i have two extra grilles i just cant get them to fit unless i chop it up. the one in the car was chopped.

          well ,im doing a rattle spray on this $300 high miles 88.i did the top half gray primer rustoleum. the bottom half black satin rustoleum. added red pin stripe .show you when im done.

              rattle can.

              just have to do the top ,driver side, and top half of the hatch , the front and rear bumper with bumper spray charcoal color.then add the red pinstipe. im going to spray the grille a flat red (if i can find some ) yeah i tried using the dollar cans not worth it. does not spray as well as the rustoleum.

                just added some pics. this side is done. what do you think of the grille. ? its a flat burgundy.

                      thanks , almost done just have to do the roof and the driver side.what do you think of the flat burgundy grille ?should i leave it that color or spray it gray primer or satin black ? thanks
