  • group buy on xr2/323 gt mid-shaft ???

i figured id pose the question of a possible group buy on some custom mid-shaft axles for all the future bp swappers and the current ones that are waiting to find one. i know these things are getting very rare concidering the limited number of these specific cars that have them because there were so few made and sold to the u.s., so anyway i thought id ask the question and see whats what about the idea it mite not be doable in a good price range i dont know any thing about fabing any thing. what are your thoughts on the subject?

The primary problem is its a 2 piece part. youd need to have the mount custom built along with the axle shaft.

Things get expensive when dealing with custom axles, even more so when you add other parts to the mix. Most axle builders wont likely even touch something that has a cast bearing housing/block mount on it.

Your better bet is to start using Escort and protege mid axles from BP cars and have a custom passenger side axle shortened to fit into a festiva. Most likely way cheaper and in a group buy situation it may even be affordable.

Has anyone looked into having the Festiva hubs broached for Escort splines?

Yes its amazing what prices actually are. It makes it seem as if under seat trays weren't an elite add on for the mega-rich yet fuel conscious drivers.
