  • Sad to say

Well it is time for the 93 Festiva and I to part company, At least it is to a friend. It should be gone this week, I was there when they backed it off the truck.........they cleaned the window, put the dealer plate on it and away I went ...came back with a chequebook. And I still remember the amount.... $7507.52 filled up, a free oil change a dealership hat (still unworn) no radio or floor mats. I replaced the dear girl with a 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 in a blazing yellow with 53,000 miles, the new fuel bill is hard to adjust to, but I haven't had to go to therapy yet. The one thing I will not miss about the Festiva is the lack of heat in the wintertime. It had to have been the best car built, it never let me down in 16 1/2 years of driving and the odometer reads 236,000. Hate to see her go as we have gone a lot of places together and as of last fall, I was still getting 45 mpg on the highway.
I'll still check out the forums so keep up the good entertainment.

Hopefully, it's going to end up in good hands? Pretty cool that you've had her since day one. You'll end up getting another one. The addiction is not reversible. Trust me, I know. I tried going cold turkey once. Made it maybe 3 months before I was cruising CL. Took a bit longer to actually get one. Now I have 3, and counting.

As much as I love my DeathEgg, I know I'll have to let her go this year for something newer and safer (lots of rust on the 'Egg). Has served me well for almost 22 years (got it new in '88) and just turned over 219,000. Will be a sad day when it comes.
