Hello everyone ! Im happy to have found this forum and its many resources . I have been searching for a Festiva for over a year because of its many attributes - good looks and fuel economy to start . So on my daily drive to work I keep eyeballing a white one parked that never moves in front of a house ... after a few months passing buy I see a guy in the yard , so I stop and ask if she's for sale . He says it wont move but runs good make me an offer . So , I now own a 93 for 200 bucks . The guy was nice enough to even tow it to my house . Now it sits in my garage and Im trying to figure out whats up with the manual transmission . I say manual because I dont know if its a four or five speed . Moving the shifter it will only go into 4 different positions . My first thought was the clutch , but after reading posts I see there are other issues with the trannies , axles and shifter bushings . While I have a general knowledge of the basics and some mechanical background and do my own repairs I really dont know much about this Festiva . I was surprised to see it was fuel injected and had 13 inch tires , as to its particular model that I am unaware .
I have purchased a clutch kit but unsure if it will get me on the road . Anyway , its great to own one and be a member here !

Welcome to the site and the madness we all share. Take a minute to add your location to your profile so we can come and steal ..... ummmm I mean maybe someone is in the area and can lend a hand....plus it is nice to know where people are from.

It will be a 5 speed because of the year...unless by some odd chance the tranny was swapped out....as for the tires....are you SURE they are 13's? If so then someone had a little knowledge of swapping stuff onto the car. We now need PICS....lol.

              Hey,

Welcome! I believe one of our members Hotfordcat is in the same town as you, might try hooking up with him. The repair help section is a great place to get info as you sort out the trans issues. "Use the search function to see if the question you have has been answered in another thread" Otherwise somebody grumpy might growl at you lol. Wish you were just a lil closer I'd help you get your festy rolling.

Welcome to the site! Good luck with the festy.
I am one of the few who happened to buy a 1991 that should have been a 5 speed but some where along the lines someone threw in a 4 speed. So there is a chance, although the 91-93's were all five speeds

Welcome aboard!! 200 bucks is what I paid for my 'new festiva'. You will find a lot of good information here. Curious as well about the 13" wheels. Wondering if just the wheels were swapped, or more. Hate to beat a dead horse, but PICS please.
